We finally got our new truck! After five long months of waiting, we finally got the F-150 we talked about in February. Thanks to the chip shortage it was missing a few features, but we still absolutely love it.

The best part is it arrived just in time for this year’s Campcation to North Cascades National Park. Now we have plenty of room for our camping gear, including extra things like our propane fire pit and propane canisters for when fire restrictions kick in each summer. Or the inflatable kayaks we recently bought.

The back seats fold straight up so we have room for coolers, our camping grill, and so much more in the cab. That feature comes in clutch when camping in bear country where food and other smelly things need to be locked up at night.

We also finally have Apple CarPlay so all the apps we normally use are available on the giant 12″ touchscreen. It even gets roughly the same gas mileage as our 2019 Toyota Tacoma despite it being quite a bit bigger.

The plan now is to finish out the last few weeks where we can go tent camping, then start looking for a travel trailer. Having a bigger truck with features specifically designed for towing means we can look at bigger options now. We will probably find 1 or 2 that we like and rent them first to see how we like them for weekend trips. Stay tuned to see where this journey takes us next.
